So, earlier, while I was throwing the ball for Summer, I was picking salmonberries, not because they're particularily tasty, but because they were there and c'mon, how can you not pick fresh ripe berries?

I picked a couple big red ones, and then glanced over the first one to make sure there weren't any slugs on it.

Then I looked at the other one in my other hand.

One of these was on the berry. It was touching my hand.

I made a sound something like this: "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEbluhbluhbluhmee mee meeee" and threw the berry and the THINGY on the ground, where I believe Summer ate it.

And then I didn't pick any more berries.

YES. SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS.

These things, while not actually spiders, freaked me the HELL out when I was younger, and even moreso now. They're not poisonous.

THEY DON'T EVEN BITE.

BUT THEY CREEP ME OUT MORE THAN MANY THINGS.

And it's all because of the legs. The legs are what creeps me out the most.

I'm of two minds when it comes to bugs. Some are cute and/or cool. Most send me into girlishly-squealing epileptic fits.

That monstrosity? SO TOTALLY OF THE LATTER CATEGORY.

Butterflies, moths, ladybugs, praying mantises, stickbugs? Totally okay with me, unless they're totally huge.

Pretty much anything else? So totally peeing my pants. Well, not literally. Most of the time.

So, the question is, which is worse: Slugs or Daddy Long-Legs?

I personally am against spiders and most insects making uninvited physical contact with Yours Truly, but Daddy Long-Legs are so... cute and harmless. They're like not even real spiders with those big spindly legs. They're ok in my book.

Other spiders, though? NO TOUCHEE!

See, the long spindly legs are the things I have the BIGGEST problem with. Like, in Wisconsin, we had these little jumping spiders and these actual daddy-longlegs spiders. The jumping spiders, I was okay with, as long as they didn't touch me. The longlegs? FREAKED THE FREAKING FREAK OUT OF ME.
