Oct. 10th, 2005 07:03 pmOkay, so Keels and I applied to be subs in the Waterford school district, in addition to Burlington. The lady just called us this morning to tell us we'd been approved.
This evening, she called back. She said, "I have some jobs. Are either of you available to sub this week?"
We wrote down the jobs. A couple minutes later she called back with more. Here is the result.
Keely: will sub tomorrow and Wednesday for a 5th grade class, and Thursday for a 7th-8th grade reading class.
I: will sub Thursday morning for a special ed aide, Friday morning for a special ed teacher, and Monday all day for the same special ed teacher.
A good thing about this Waterford thing is the calling in advance, no wondering if the phone will ring in the morning. O'course, there's still that possibility, because we're on the Burlington list. But whoa. As Keely said, "We hit paydirt with Waterford!"
I'm a little worried because I've never done special ed before. Keely is worried because she'll be teaching math in 5th, so we just spent some time going over fractions, because we were both a little rusty. It came back to us fairly easy, though.
