Just heard this song on the radio. Made me cry.

Where've You Been? by Kathy Mattea

Claire had all but given up,
When she and Edwin fell in love.
She touched his face and shook her head,
In disbelief, she sighed and said:

He asked her for her hand for life,

Actually, I read about the story behind that song in a book about songwriting. IIRC, the person who wrote the song had to come to terms with having to put her parents in a nursing home (hence the stuff about the old couple "in a hospital, in separate beds on different floors").
