Notice the new icon! Meg made it for me. I call it Pink Baby Cthulhu. I don't know how to put that on the icon itself, though. *sad face*

Ya know, I've noticed something (shocking!).


Okay, so the Goblet of Fire movie is coming out this fall, based on the book of the same name, and it is where we meet Viktor Krum, the star Seeker for the Bulgarian Quidditch team. I don't have the book right beside me, so I won't be quoting, but he is described as having a large nose, really thick eyebrows, and rather awkward-looking while on the ground (I picture him with a beak like a vulture and a unibrow).

The actor they hired to play Krum is a Bulgarian named Stanislav Ianevski. He...is not ugly, in my opinion. I don't think he's hot, either, but definitely better looking than I pictured Krum to be.



What interests me are the various reactions the casting choice is getting, ranging from "Oh wow, he's hot! I'm so glad he's playing Krum!" to (like me) "He's too good-looking to be Krum!" to (and this is the really amusing one) "OMG he's fugly and not hot enough to play Krum!" The between-the-lines for that last one is "He's not hot enough to be Hermione's boyfriend oh NOES."

I have also heard him described as "the love child of Orlando Bloom and a gorilla." That one's not far off the mark, I think. He's either really attractive, or really not. Maybe you'd have to know him personally to make up your mind.

As for the Viktor reactions, LOL! Those are some crazies responses. I think the actor is hot, and the whole cross between Orli and gorilla is not far off. Hehe. But, I think you're right, he's not how I pictured Viktor. Still added hotness never hurts. ;o)

That would be great! I wanted to put something like, "Tremble before Pink Baby Cthulhu!" or "Pink Baby Cthulhu will bite your head!" but I didn't know if that would all fit and still be readable.

Poor gorilla :F I unno, he's never described as hideous, but meh. There's another shot of him in the movie where he looks better (worse?) more suited, anyway, to what one would imagine. I think he's fairly good looking, myself, not fall all over drool worthy, but not unpleasant. Certainly better looking than Orlando Bloom or a gorilla, though :F

I think he's supposed to look older then his age, though, because I remember Harry and Co. Being surprised that he was still in school.

And I'm not surprised that they cast someone slightly good looking. I think there's an episode of the Simpsons, where Moe gets plastic surgery and gets on a Soap, but someone makes a comment about "TV ugly, not fulgy."
