Feb. 12th, 2005 02:22 pmI love this poem. Don't know why.
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
-Robert Frost

To me, it's mainly old philoschmofical rhetorics used a thousand times before in Dr.Seuss-level rhyming and meter... and that best line of him, quoted out of context everywhere, does not actually say in the poem anything about it being positive or negative. >.<

Date: 2005-02-12 08:40 pm (UTC)You don't need to hide. We are all entitled to our opinions. I happen to like Robert Frost, and Edgar Allen Poe, and yes, even the Harry Potter books, which I happen to know you are not a fan of, to say the least. Doesn't mean you're not allowed to NOT like them.
The first poem I ever had to memorize for school or anything else was "Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. That was 10 years ago and I remember it still.

I like Poe too, though. ^^;
