I cannot stand that song "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder. It wasn't always this way...there was a time when I could tolerate it, even thought it was pretty the first dozen times I heard it (even with the stupid emo cheatin' lyrics) but then they played it on the radio OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again until I just got. SICK. of. it.

So someone please tell me, PLEASE, why Jack Ingram saw fit to do a cover of the song? PLEASE tell me why, when I switched from the popular music station and one its cookie-cutter songs this afternoon to the country music station, I was suddenly subjected to LIPS OF A FREAKIN' ANGEL sung with a country twang??

I love country music. Hell, I even like some of the pop music out there. BUT I HATE THAT SONG WITH THE FIERY PASSION OF A THOUSAND SUNS AND IT MUST BUUUUUUUURN.

Hm. Maybe this is what I get for working at a radio station.

I hear ya. It was okay the first few times... and my opinion just slide downwards the more they played it.

Oh thank god it's not just me.

TBH, I stick with the classic rock stations because the 'new hits' station plays the same six songs over and over. I'm sick of hearing about how Fergie's 'licious ass ain't promiscuous, I'm sick of listening to Justin Timberlake whine, and I am sick up to here of motherlovin' Nickelback.

Actually, "Lips of an Angel" always dismayed me. I can't help but think he's singing about fellatio.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who shares that opinion. >.<

I work for a farm store-- so I don't get a choice of music. We listen to Country. All. Of. The. Time.

I couldn't stand the Hinder version of that song the first time I heard it (when my sister bought the CD and forced me to listen to it), and then, when Country radio started playing the Jack Ingram version, I wanted to throw something at the massive radio we have hooked up to the store's amplifier.

Not only, apparently, is the song popular, it's well received enough locally for the local country stations to see fit to play it EIGHT FRICKIN' TIMES IN EIGHT HOURS.

*stab* I don't mind Nickelback... but The Fray, Creed, Hinder, Fergie, JT, Jack Ingram and a whole laundry list of artists can go die in a fire, because they suck.

Oh my... Is my beeg seester becoming more music-conscious? Also, I still don't mind that song, but probably only because I haven't heard it at all in the last 3 months (I can choose from several radio stations now, thank you very much). KVAK does kind of... overplay things a bit. That's why I hate John Mayer. That, and his voice makes me want to find him, sneak up on him and piss in his hair.

In time, dear sister, in time. I guess I actually knew that about the radio... Do you happen to know if there's ever a way to recover lost entries on LJ?
