I had a little bit of excitement today when I returned home from work. I opened my door to the squealing of my CO detector and a very strong gas smell. I called the fire department and the lady sent out the firemen (in a firetruck, even) and they deduced that my monitor stove vent was blocked with the heavy, wet snow we've recently gotten. I figured it was okay because the exhaust melts all the snow in front of the tube, but apparently the fresh air intake is around the outside of the pipe and so the intake wasn't getting any fresh air, just recycled exhaust.

Also, my Firefox won't let me post to my LJ! I had to open IE. Anyone else have that problem, or know why I'm having it?

yeah for co detectors! it sucks that it had to go off, but not as much as it would have sucked if you'd not had one and gone inside...

I was having issues with Mozilla and LJ, but none so far with firefox.

When you say won't let me, what, exactly, is it that happens (or fail to)? Also: What version of Firefox are you running, and are you using any exotic plugins or extensions?

Whenever I try to post, I get a "Firefox has encountered an error and must shut down" message. I'm not sure what version I'm running.

Is it in there somewhere? No extensions or plugins that I know of.

…Wow that's out of date (Firefox 1.0.7; major releases since then are 1.5.0 and 2.0.0, though there have been many minor releases on top of those; I'm running 2.0.0.1). I don't know what the error is caused by (obviously, since that message doesn't specify the error!) but on general principles, you may want to upgrade to something newer. Bug fixes and security updates are both frequent, after all.

Go here and get something reasonable.
