We had some impressive thunderstorms last night, complete with tornado warnings.

Before I went to bed at about 11, I stood outside on the lawn for a while to watch the lightning, as it was at an angle that I couldn't see from my apartment. Ben and Danette came outside for a few minutes to watch it too. Then it started to rain and I came back inside and got to bed. The window was open a little so I couls still hear the thunder. I slept with barely anything on, no doubt resembling the StayPuft Marshmallow Man in skimpy gray underwear, and I was still too hot.

The thunder and lightning continued probably until about 12:30, including a couple truly earth-shaking crashes from directly above, the sort of thing that you expect to set off car alarms.

I went to sleep about that time, then was awakened at 3:30 by another storm, more impressive than the last. Looking out window, I could see the lightning bolts branching across the sky, and a few very thick ones heading down, less than a mile away.

I went out on the deck for awhile to watch, and then it started raining in earnest, we're talking sideways.

Then I went back to bed and had a dream about ping pong, and how it's really hard to play when you're trying to use a paddle made of a fistful of weeds.

We had tornado warnings at about 4 pm yesterday. Well, not US exactly, but everywhere around us...Fortunately they were only little teeny weak tornados.
