So, the other day, for the first time in a Very Very Long While, I wrote a little bit of a story. Just a fluffy, cutesy, floofy little story. And saved it to a 3x5 disk, like I do with all my other stuff.

Today, I tried to access said disk.

Me: *puts disk in* *clicky* *open*

Disk Drive: GROAHHROOAHH GROAHHROOAHH GROAHHROOAHH.

Me: FUCK! *removes disk, leaving disk drive gasping and sputtering*

Screen: INSERT DISK OR DIE.

Disk Drive: GRROEEE GRROEEE GRROEEE.

Me: Eep. *reinserts disk*

Disk Drive: Excellent. GROAHHRROAHH GROAHHROOAHH GROAHHROOAHH.

Me: *waits it out*

...15 minutes later...

Disk Drive: *is done*

Me: *ejects* *inserts new disk*

Disk Drive: COME ON IN, HOW NICE TO SEE YOU. LALALArainbowspuppiesponiessparkles.

Me: Hrm. *ejects* *reinserts first disk*

Disk Drive: GROAHHRROAHH GROAHHROOAHH GROAHHROOAHH.

Me: EJECT! *ejects*

Disk Drive: GRROEEE GRROEEE GRROEEE. I KEEL YOU!

Me: *reinserts disk*

Disk Drive: Ahh. GROAHHRROAHH GROAHHROOAHH GROAHHROOAHH.

Me: *facepalms*

And that is why, as soon as my parents got internet, I only used ftp to transfer files from home to the university and vice versa when I had to transfer homework/reports/programming assignments, and NOT 3.5" disks. I've had too many files lost like that.
