Keels and I had to do a little shopping this evening, and then we went to dinner at Culver's with the gift card Swell sent me. A couple months ago, I mentioned a contest that this town holds where they park a car out on the ice and sell tickets about when it'll fall through.

Since they put it out there in early January, this little red car has sat in the same place. We've seen the ice slowly melting under it, and every time we drive by, Keely says, "It's gonna be soon! I see it melting!"

Tonight, as we drove home, she glanced over as we drove toward it and said, "Still there."

Then a pause.

"THEY MOVED IT!"

The jackasses have moved the car closer to shore, in order to keep it above the ice longer and prolong their sick little game!

Yes. It seems Burlington has a dark side.

EDIT: Keely wanted to read this entry, so I let her sit on my lap since she's little and it's a short entry. After she'd read it, I made like I was going to pitch her to the floor, and she let out a funny little squawk, and I recovered her and we laughed about it. Then she said, "You're going to do that again, aren't you, just to see if I make the same noise."

I said, "I would never do that."

Then of course, I did. And didn't recover her in time. And we both landed on the floor, her narrowly missing a dictionary and me almost kicking my computer over. Won't be doing that again anytime soon.
