It wasn't scary so much as surreal. As I said, I knew I'd be able to get into my car and close the door before it reached me, if it was inclined to try anything, but generally bears just want to be left alone. Plus, as a blackie, he wasn't very big. If it had been a grizzly, that would have been another story altogether. I probably would have peed my pants.
