One part of me wants to scoff at the idea of a dark spirit driving these people to hurt someone in that way, especially their own daughter. But another part of me thinks...what else could it be? Sheer madness? Brought on suddenly? Strange gases from under the earth's crust? A virus? What?
It's just strange. And it bothers me.
