Mar. 7th, 2005 08:30 amWoo, y'all. (Or should I say among-ye?) We had a kickass thunderstorm last night. Came as kind of a shock, since yesterday was cloudless and warm. I was sitting at my computer late last night (or early this morning) and I had been hearing a distant rumbling from time to time, but I thought it was just the wind picking up. Then there was a flash outside.
I watched through the window for a few minutes, then determined that the storm was coming closer so I turned off my machine to avoid a power surge, went into my room and opened the blinds so I could see better. When it started raining, it also began gusting so hard I was a little worried that the window might blow in. I was happy to be inside and not out, because that rain would have felt like jackhammers. It really was the epitome of "it was a dark and stormy night..." Except the storm only lasted about a half-hour. So, I guess "it was a dark and stormy half-hour..."
Anywho. It was great. And I fell asleep to the sounds of distant thunder and rain on my window, and occasional flashes of lightning on the backs of my eyelids.
