Me: come home Gabe: "You're home! I almost starved to death today! Look how I'm wasting away!" author's note: This is a cat who's never weighed less than 15 pounds in the 13 1/2 years I've known him. I've heard rumors that he weighed less when he was born but I have never seen proof! Me: "Hey Gabe, did you behave today?" Gabe: "Wasting away, I tell you!" Me: goes to bedroom to take off socks. Lump: *sleep*sleep*sleep* Me: sits in recliner Gabe: *purr*purr*purr* "PetMePetMePetMe. I Love You, Feed Me, I Love You, Feed Me"
Later in evening... Me: feeds both cats Gabe: snarfle snarfle snarfle Gabe: "Feed me!" Me: I just fed you Gabe: "I'm starving. I'm wasting away." Me: Whatever Lump: Daintily nibbles on food. Saves some for later. Gabe: sits under window shelf where Lumps food is and his fat self is too lazy to jump to. Gabe: "Why do you give her so much more food?" Me: "You're a pig. Save some of yours for later." Gabe: "wasting...away...now..."
